Description
The Barrel Selection Foeder 21 is a blend consisting of lambic from three different foeders of 4000 liters each. These oak barrels were originally used to age sweet white wine. Foeder 21 was filled on October 25, 2018. The lambic in this large barrel was therefore four years old when Gert made the blend. During this extended maturation the lambic of Foeder 21 went through a maderisation process. The other two foeders contain 3 and 2.5 year old lambic. As a result, the Barrel Selection Foeder 21 has an average age of no less than 37 months! It has become a beautifully complex Oude Geuze, in terms of aroma and taste.
