Description
The Boon Oude Geuze Coigneau was made with Coigneau hops. This hop variety originates from Teralfene and owes its name to Frans Coigneau, who discovered the hop in his own garden. It turned out to be a resistant and strong growing variety. Frans Coigneau distributed the seedlings to farmers in the region. For many years it was the most popular hop variety in the region between Aalst and Asse. With the rise of pilsner beers after the First World War, the Coigneau hop almost disappeared. Since 10 years, some farmers are cultivating this rare hop variety again. Only 3400 bottles of this gueuze were bottled. ABV 8.7.
